The II Congreso Latinoamericano
de Medicina del Viajero (SLAMVI)/4th Regional Conference of the
International Society of Travel Medicine program will incorporate
a full day multi-session travel medicine program with over 20 speakers
on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 together with a travel medicine track
through joint sessions with ISID during the remainder of the ICID
meeting. Included in the travel medicine track will be a Plenary
Lecture by Martin Cetron, Director, Global Migration and Quarantine,
CDC on the topic of “The Changing Patterns of Global Migration
and the Impact on Infectious Diseases”.
Both Spanish and/or Portuguese language sessions as well as
English language sessions will be available on the morning and
afternoon of Tuesday, March 9. Plenary Lectures, Symposia, Workshops
and Meet-The-Professor sessions will be presented on
Tuesday, March 9, 2010.
The ISTM is pleased to offer the Certificate of Knowledge
Exam on Monday, March 8, 2010 from
13:00 to 18:00hrs prior to the opening of the 4th Regional
Conference of the ISTM in Miami, Florida. Those passing the
examination will be granted a Certificate
in Travel Health(r) or CTH(r). Knowledge of tropical diseases
is not required. This exam will have limited seating available
with preference given to ISTM members. Registration will begin
