Tours

All tours should be booked in advance on the registration form. A tours desk will be available on the 3rd Level of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre hosted by AOS Conventions & Events Sdn. Bhd. where you may register for these tours during the dates of the Congress if space is still available. A full refund less MYR 300,00 administration fee will be granted if written cancellation was received on or before April 18, 2008.

All registered and paid accompanying persons have one half-day sightseeing tour of Kuala Lumpur included in the registration fee. This tour can also be booked on the hotel reservation & tour form.

All tours will depart from the main entrance of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). To register please fill in the relevant section of the Hotel & Tour Booking Form. It is highly recommended to book in advance, as availability onsite will be limited.

City Tour of Kuala Lumpur

Frequency: Daily

Timing: 9:00 AM with a duration of 3 hours

The Kuala Lumpur City Tour explores both the old and the new. The excursion takes you through the Golden Triangle where all the major shops, hotels and boutiques are located. From here you will pass Independence Square and the architectural splendour of the Court House before heading to Chinatown.

KL Suburb Tour

Frequency: Daily

Timing: 9:00 AM with a duration of 3 hours

The Countryside Tour takes you out of the city. Observe how traditional Batik is produced from plain cotton cloth and transformed into colourful patterns and designs by hand. The Pewter factory never fails to intrigue visitors with their skilled workmanship in producing handcrafted pewter ware. Continue to the famed Batu Caves which attracts a million people yearly during the Hindu festival, Thaipusam. It awaits your arrival with its 272 steps and fascinating cave structures.

Putrajaya Tour

Frequency: Daily

Timing: 9:00 AM with a duration of 3 hours

Approximately 45 minutes ride will take you to the new administrative center for the Federal Government, Putrajaya. This 21st century Garden and intelligent city is equipped with latest technology facilities.

The tour will begin at the Dataran Putra or the Putra Square, a centerpiece adorned with local motifs. A short walk to Putra Mosque, the most distinctive landmark of Putrajaya modeled after a Persian architectural design of the Safavid period. You can take pictures of the magnificent> Prime Minister’s office, also known as the Perdana Putra Complex.

KL Night Cultural Tour

Frequency: Daily

Timing: 7:00 PM with a duration of 3 hours (dinner included)

We start off at the Sri Mahamariaman Temple, the oldest Hindu shrine in the city. You will be impressed as you stroll through the lively atmosphere of Chinatown’s night market. This is a bargain centre where one may find items ranging from colourful clothing and mouth-watering delicacies to designer items. Then proceed to a sumptuous buffet dinner, followed by a colourful array of traditional dances depicting the people of Malaysia.

Historical Malacca

Frequency: Daily

Timing: 9:00 AM with a duration of 9 hours (lunch included)

Malacca, located 160 kilometres south of Kuala Lumpur, is the most important historical city in the country. Malacca was also ruled by the Portuguese, Dutch and English. The ruins and buildings of these conquerors can still be seen today. Among the places to visit are Porta de Santiago, St. Paul’s Church, the Stadhuys Building, Christ Church, Cheng Hoon Temple (oldest Chinese temple in Malaysia), Jonker Street, and China Hill.

A Day in the Rainforest Frequency: Daily

Timing: 9:00 AM with a duration of 6 hours (lunch included)

An opportunity to explore the world’s oldest tropical rainforest. Listen to the sounds of the rainforest and learn about the hundreds of varieties of flora and fauna that can be found. Trek through primary and secondary tropical rainforest and swim in an open-air swimming pool - so do not forget to bring your swimming attire! The tour begins with a visit to the Aborigine Museum.

Secrets of Sarawak

Explore on your own leisure by foot or take a boat along the Sarawak River. Overnight proceed for a city tour of Kuching, drive past China Town to visit Tua Pek Kong Chinese Temple and others historical tourist attractions. Next day brings you to the Semonggok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre that houses protected wildlife rescued from captivity. Your journey will reach the longhouse where the traditional welcoming ceremony by the Iban folks awaits your arrival. Experience the Iban’s daily activities and culture. Bako National Park, the oldest National Park awaits visitors with 16 well maintained marked jungle trails you may see birds, proboscis monkey, long tail macaque and silver-leaf monkey. A photographer’s paradise for wildlife pictures is better in Bako than anywhere else in Sarawak. Return to Kuching for overnight stay.

Sabah - Wildlife Trail

Duration: 6 days/5 nights

The Sabah Wildlife Trail takes in the state’s finest attractions. From the state capital Kota Kinabalu you will head inland through the Crocker Range to the foot of South East Asia’s highest mountain MountKinabalu. After exploring one of the trails your journey will take you to Poring Hotsprings, where after a short trek you can soak yourself in the hot sulphur waters, which are renowned for their therapeutic properties. As you head further south you will discover the abundance of wildlife on the banks of the Kinabatangan River, a rare opportunity to see turtles on Selingan Island and a visit to Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary. Redang Island

An hour flight from Subang by Dash-7 (48 seats) brings you to the South China Sea island of Redang, 45km off the Terengganu coastline. Nine islands has been declared a the marine park consisting of Redang, Pinang, Lima, Ekor Tebu, Lang Tengah, Perhentian Besar, Perhentian Kecil, Susu Dara, and Kapas.

These islands have a fascinating variety of marine life and are excellent for underwater exploration and photography. There are five notable dive sites namely Tanjung Lang, Tanjong Tokong, north of Redang, Tanjung Gua Kawah, and Pasir Panjang.

Tioman Island

1-hour flying from Subang by Dash-7 brings you to the enchanting island of Tioman, located in the South China Sea. This island which is 45km off the east coast state of Phang is well known for its corals and rich marine life that offer challenging dive sites with visibility up to 33m.

Shallow reefs at the nearby islands of Tulai and Renggis are also good for scuba diving and snorkeling.
