Key information for tour bookings:
  • Tour rates are quoted in Singapore Dollars on a per person basis.
  • The tours only include the services mentioned in the tour description. Travel insurance and round trip transfers from the hotel to the International Airport are not included.
  • For all tours full payment is required in advance.
  • For tour reservations, 80% of the amount paid will be refunded if written notification of cancellation is received on or before February 8, 2002. No refunds will be made for cancellations received after February 8, 2002.
  • Payment for approved refunds will be forwarded to delegates 60 days after the Congress.

Sightseeing Tours in Singapore
City Synopsis - S$34 (adult), S$18 (child)
Frequency: Daily
Timing: 0930 hrs - 1300 hrs (pick-up: from 0900 hrs)
Be introduced to the old and new Singapore. See the city's colonial heritage in all its splendor with a drive past Parliament House and the imposing Supreme Court and City Hall that overlooks the Padang, the venue for many state occasions.

Then proceed to fascinating Chinatown, where temples and traditional houses retain the Chinese character in this enclave. Next, capture a bird's eye view of the world's busiest port from Mt Faber. From a height of 105 meters above sea level, you can see the oil refineries on the off-shore islands, reflecting Singapore's position as one of the world's largest petroleum refining centers.

A stop will be made at the Jewellery Wholesale Factory for a demonstration on jewellery handcrafting, where purchase is optional. The next stop is the National Orchid Garden located in the Botanic Gardens where the first rubber trees were planted in this part of the world. Finally, we drive through Little India to experience the lively Indian trading community and be overwhelmed by the charms of this part of old Singapore.

A morning of fun is in store on this visit to the Singapore Zoological Gardens, a highly commended open zoo. This magnificent 90-hectre zoo houses more than 2,000 animals from all over the world. Many are free to roam, confined only by natural barriers of water or shrubs. Enjoy a unique breakfast (optional) as the orangutans join you for your meal complete with toast, eggs, cornflakes, and fresh tropical fruits.

At the Primate and Reptile Show, you'll witness the antics of the playful orangutans and a display of venomous snakes. Take your time to stroll through this unique zoo enveloped in lush tropical greenery.

Sentosa, which means isle of tranquility in Malay, has been transformed into a top pleasure resort offering an interesting variety of activities.

Enjoy a scenic cable car ride to the island of Sentosa. Visit the fascinating Images of Singapore to relive the history and festivals of Singapore. Observe the spectacular 37-meter Merlion Tower soaring into the sky. Visit Underwater World, Asia's first and largest tropical fish oceanarium with over 5,000 marine specimens. The tour ends with a scenic coach ride to the mainland.

Discover the beautiful and unusual wildlife in their natural jungle setting and learn more about their nocturnal life. Watch the Cape Buffalo, African Bongo, Blue Sheep, Striped Hyena, Golden Jackal, the Greater One Horned Rhinoceros, and many others roaming freely through the Night Safari lush ground.

Experience the 360-meter exhibit, home to Egyptian Fruit Bats and the world's largest bats (Malayan Flying Foxes) swooping overhead and at shoulder level. Take in the smell, sound, and the mysterious ambience of the night as you make new discoveries at every turn. We will also take a tram ride round the grounds.
